The Development Sign in Sculpture through The Study of Buddhist Principles

Abstract
This research aims to 1) study the history of Buddhist philosophy the essence of the Buddha’s teachings Dharma teachings from 3 noble Sanghas, namely 1. Somdet Phra Phutthakhosachan (Por Payutto), 2. Phra Phothiyan Thera (Cha Suphatto) and 3. Phra Thammakosajarn (Buddhatas Bhikkhu) and 2) to study the riddles from works of art by 8 Thai artists, namely 1. Chalood Nimsamer, 2. Preecha Thaowthong, 3. Nonthiwat Chandhanaphalin, 4. Wichai Sittirat, 5. Khemrat Kongsuk, 6. Montien Bunma, 7. Prasong Luemuang and 8. Kamin Lertchaiprasertkul. Analyze the symbols in the works, collect them as inspiration and apply them creatively to the sculptures.
From the research, it was found that the teachings through the 3 noble Sanghas were interesting and had different distinctive designs. As for the study of the works of 8 artists,
it was found that there were two approaches, namely 1. Chalood Nimsamer, 2. Nonthiwat Chanthanapalin, 3. Wichai Sitthirat and 4. Khemrat Kongsuk, whose approach focused on the use of shapes as a media of thought. Let the content convey the power of the forms associated with Buddhadharma. The second approach is 1. Preecha Thaothong, 2. Montien Boonma, 3. Prasong Luemuang and 4. Kamin Lertchaiprasert. Emphasizes on the form of presenting concepts in which the shapes are symbols that tell the content of the Buddha Dharma. The symbols in this research project have developed a form from the principles and works of artists who have inspired creation into one set of sculptures.
