The Experimental Research in Creative Arts, Issues in The Study of Physical Environment in Buddhist Places That Reflect The Area of Sappaya
Main Article Content
Abstract
The experimental research in creative arts, issues in the study of physical environment in Buddhist places that reflect the area of Sappaya, objectives are 1) To study the physical environment in the Buddhist study area group, which is in Mae Rim District and Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province, that contribute to a serene and conducive atmosphere for spiritual practice (Sappaya). 2) To analyze the findings to understand how these physical environments reflect the Buddhist concept of a “Suppaya” space and to explore the potential for creating idealized representations of such spaces. And 3) to utilize the research findings to produce experimental artworks that challenge conventional ways of learning about Buddhism and offer new perspectives on Buddhist thoughts, beliefs, and philosophy.
The research resulted in two sets of experimental artworks: (1) an animated film titled “The Concept of Suppaya Space” and (2) a mixed media artwork titled “Ideal Space”. The research found that studying the physical aspects of Buddhist religious sites that reflect the concept of “Suppaya” space creates new experiences for learning and communicating Buddhist ideas through experimental art. This approach offers a unique experience compared to traditional learning about Buddhist thoughts, beliefs, and philosophy. Experimental artistic research is an innovative integration of mixed media art skills with technologies such as artificial intelligence, image editing software, and still and motion image creation. This contemporary approach to creating narratives about the tranquility of Buddhist religious sites that reflect the concept of “Suppaya”space may stimulate further research and development in the field of art.
