English Teaching Material Development for Homestay Entrepreneurs

Abstract
The objectives of this research are: 1) to develop an effective English language teaching material for homestay entrepreneurs according to the 80/80 criteria, and 2) to determine the satisfaction of homestay entrepreneurs in Ronghip, Bang Khonti District, Samut Songkhram province, Thailand with the developed teaching material. Two groups of population were 17 local homestay entrepreneurs from Ronghip, Bang Khonti District, Samut Songkhram province, Thailand; and 6 foreign visitors participated in the local homestay services in April, 2018. Questionnaires for the satisfaction of the foreign visitors with the English language teaching material for homestay entrepreneurs, the test for English communication competency of the homestay entrepreneurs, the English language teaching material for homestay entrepreneurs, and the questionnaires for the satisfaction of the local homestay entrepreneurs with the teaching material were used as research tools. Descriptive statistics, population mean, percentage, and standard deviation were used for data analysis.
The results show that:
1) the effectiveness of the English language teaching material for homestay entrepreneurs is determined as effective at the score of 89.70/87.95
2) the satisfaction of the local homestay entrepreneurs with the developed teaching material is at the highest level, both in overall and on specific items
