The Development of Communicative Language Teaching with Multimedia to Enhance Ability in Listening and Speaking English of Grade 8.

Abstract

 The purposes of this research were 1) to develop communicative language teaching with multimedia with the efficiency at 75/75 ; 2) to study the ability in listening and speaking English toward communicative language teaching with multimedia ; 3) to study Matthayomsuksa 2 students’ satisfaction toward communicative language teaching with multimedia to enhance the ability in listening and speaking English. The samples were fifty Matthayomsuksa 2/4 students studying in the second semester of the academic year 2019 of Kamalasai School, Kamalasai district, Kalasin province, the secondary educational service area office 24 by Cluster Random sampling. The research instruments were 1) fifteen English communicative language teaching 1-hour lesson plans with multimedia in five 3-hour topics such as 1) Greetings, 2) Family, 3) Food and Drink, 4) Daily Routine and 5) Directions, 2)  the English listening individual assessment of Matthayomsuksa 2 students using criteria, 3)  the English speaking individual assessment of Matthayomsuksa 2 students using Rubrics to interpret assessment results to rate 5 levels of quality, 4) achievement tests and 5) satisfaction surveys toward communicative language teaching with multimedia using assessments with Rubrics with 5 rated levels of quality.

The results of the research were as follows: 1) The efficiency index of Communicative Language Teaching with Multimedia to Enhance Ability in Listening and Speaking English of Matthayomsuksa 2 Students was (E₁/ E₂) 85.28/75.32 which was higher than the standard criteria (75/75);  2) students’ ability in listening and speaking English of Matthayomsuksa 2 students after using Communicative Language Teaching with Multimedia to Enhance Ability in Listening and Speaking English Listening  English showed that the mean scores 77.40 and Speaking English showed that the mean scores 75.20 3) students’ attitudes towards Communicative Language Teaching with Multimedia to Enhance Ability in Listening and Speaking English were very high with the mean scores () at 4.56 and the standard deviation (S.D.) at 0.06.
