Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to develop and find out the efficiency of the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2, with the efficiency value of 80/80 2) to compare the academic achievement students before and after the learning by using the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2, 3) to compare reading skill of the students by using the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2 and 4) to study the students’ satisfaction about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2. The Sample were 13 Matthayomsuksa 2/2 students at Thessaban 2 School (Banmalayubangkok), Yala Municipality of the academic year of 2016 .The research instruments were 1) the 5 stories supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2, 2) an achievement of English for communication test 3) an English reading skill test and 4) assessment form of the satisfaction of learning. The research statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. (Dependent Sample)


Results of the research were as follows :


1.The supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2 found average of the efficiency was totally equal 89.65/87.87 higher than criteria. (80/80)


2. The academic achievement students before and after the learning by using the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces was significantly at the .01 level which found that the students use the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces has academic achievement after the learning higher than before the learning was significantly at the .01 level.


3. Reading skill of the students by using the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2 after the learning higher than before the learning was significantly at the .01 level.


4. The students’ satisfaction by using the supplementary folk tale books encouraged reading about Culture and Folk game in 3 Southern border provinces, Foreign Language Department (English), Matthayomsuksa 2 was at the high level ( gif.latex?\bar{x}= 4.65)
