The Development of Instructional Model to Enhance Achievement and Scientific Reasoning of Mathayom Suksa 1 Students Municipal School 4 (Ban Chiangrai), Lampang.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study and analysis of data for the development of instructional model to enhance achievement and scientific reasoning in the Science Area Learning of Mathayom suksa 1 students Municipal School 4 (Ban Chiangrai) for develop and study efficiency of instructional model to enhance the achievement scientific reasoning and study Mathayom suksa 1 students’ satisfaction toward the development of instructional model. The research procedures consisted Phrase 1: Research (R1) The analysis of basic information (Analysis: A) Study data source as the result of education plane, education objectives in the Science Area Learning, elements of the model and other details of the instructional model. Research tool was document analysis had 2 parts were a status condition and expectation condition. Analysis result of education plane, education objective, analysis data by content analysis. Phrase 2: Development (D1) design and development (D and D) the development and efficiency of the instructional model; the tools were design the instruction; plane; evaluate from learning ability and students’ satisfaction toward the development of
instructional model to enhance achievement and scientific reasoning. Data analysis by index of item
Objective Congruence (IOC) then chose index of item Objective Congruence at 0.50 level up. The value of the rater was 0.84.Study and efficiency of the instructional model ( E1/E2) with field tryout 80/80 evaluation. Phrase 3 : Instructional model Experiment ; usage 2 tools were treatment tool and data collections tool. Analysis data by used percentage, mean and standard deviation. Phrase 4 : Development; Evaluation and improvement instructional model used achievement score, test score, scientific reasoning test score, students’ satisfaction score, analysis data by statistical methods.


The research finding found that


1. Expectation Condition; Education reform by student centered learning base on learning by yourself and life long learning focus on creative thinking contribution on to the development of reading habit. Current Condition; most students didn’t evaluate thinking skill and science in Mathayom suksa students didn’t achieve. The instructional was teacher center the teacher was emphasis on content without analysis thinking , non- problem solving method, non- apply science knowledge in the daily life. The most teachers used lecture method in teaching non-experimental and non-cognitive learning theory cause of the students were without critical thinking.


2 The development of instructional model called TPES model had elements of model ; principal, objective, instructional element, content and ability, social system responsiveness and other supports. The instructional process were 4 steps; step 1 Think (T) step 2 Participation (P) step 3 Education (E) step 4 Share (S). Investigation the development of instructional model agreement index by the experts found that element of model was congruence (IOC = 0.84) and found the efficiency (E1/E2) on filed tryout 38 Mathayom suksa 1 students Municipal School 5 (Ban Sribunrueng) the efficiency score was 84.91/81.15 higher than defined criterion. The 2nd research hypothesis accepted.


3. Achievement and Science reasoning of Mathayom suksa 1 students who used the development of instructional model to enhance achievement and scientific reasoning revealed that the outcome score on them were significantly higher than the score before learning at the 0.50 level. Achievement and science reasoning outcome score were higher. The 3rd research hypothesis accepted. When finding according to each dimension found that The achievement of the development of instructional model to enhance achievement and scientific reasoning in Science Learning Area were significantly different at the 0.50 level higher than the score before learning. The science reasoning of Mathayom suksa 1 students revealed that the students’ outcome score on the development of instructional model to enhance achievement and scientific reasoning were significantly different at the 0.50 level higher than the score before learning.


4. Mathayom suksa 1 students had overall satisfaction in learning by the development of instructional model to enhance achievement and science reasoning at the highest level.
