Scientific Attitude of the Ninth Graders Students Learning through the CIPPA Model

Abstract

The instruction based on the CIPPA model is the learning management where students are the center of learning and where they study by themselves, interact with each other, and exchange opinions. The purpose of the present study was to compare the attitude toward science learning of grade 9 students learning through the CIPPA model and normal lesson plans. The sample of the study was 80 grade 9 students of Darunaratchaburi School in the second semester of the 2016 academic year, selected via cluster random sampling and divided into two groups, 40 students each. The research instruments included 12 CIPPA model lesson plans on biological diversity and an attitude test on science learning, 30 items and with a reliability value of 0.709. The findings showed that the attitudes toward science learning of the students learning through the CIPPA model were higher than those of the students learning with the conventional method at the level of 0.5 of statistical significance.
