DEVELOPMENT OF MOBILE APPLICATION TO ENHANCE CHINESE COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN A NEW WAY OF LEARNING (NEW NORMAL) FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AT CHIANG RAI PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE 1

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to develop a mobile application and find its efficiency in promoting students’ Chinese communication skills development based on the specific criteria of 75/75; 2) to compare the students’ learning achievements in Chinese communication skills development before and after using the mobile application; and 3) to survey students’ satisfactions towards the use of the mobile application .The research sample was the 30 sixth-grade students at Ban San Khong (Chiang Rai Jaroonrat) School, 1. The Sample Random Sampling Techniques were used to recruit the participants by means of drawing. Data were collected by means of a mobile application, a Chinese communication achievement test, and a satisfaction survey questionnaire. Data were analyzed for descriptive statistics such as percentage, mean (), and standard deviation (S.D.) The findings showed that: 1) The features of the mobile application onsists of welcoming page, front page, and lessons with pictures and Chinese audio. Each lesson has vocabulary lists, dialogues, sentences, exercises, games, and tests. the efficiency value (E₁/E₂) of the mobile application was at 78.43/83.50, which was higher than the specific criteria of 75/75, and 2) The post-test score of the students’ was higher than the pre-test score with a statistically significant difference at the level of .05, and 3) The overall score of the students’ satisfactions was at the highest level.
