Abstract
The western music has played an important role in music practice in Thailand and influenced folk musical brand by employing western music instruments extensively as of some limitation of traditional music practice. Isan folk music instruments, like Pin which is one of Isan folk music instruments which was combined orchestras of western music instruments, cannot produce longer echo sound and perform in every scale of Western music. From that reasons, many folk music developers of Isan Pin have attempted to create Pin to match with western music. Among those, Mr. Prakasit Sanpakdee, a producer and developer of Isan Pin in Mueang District, Sakon Nakhon Province has created Pin assembling with woods which looks like a box. It produces a longer echo sound because sound which is made by vibration of woods at the back of Pin. Moreover, the fret, which is made to chromatic calculating with 17.817, a standard value in the production of acoustic guitar. Therefore, Pin could be played with international music instruments in every scale which is different from original Isan Pin with only one scale. This article had four objectives: to examine background, physical appearance, production process, and present production and development of traditional Isan Pin. to The field area study, and an investigation of relevant documents, textbooks, academic articles and research were also conducted.
