Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) examine the conditions of teaching and learning management in information literacy course at Rajabhat universities in the Northeast Region, and 2) explore the level of information literacy skills of Rajabhat University undergraduates in the Northeast Region. The samples were 1) lecturers of information literacy course from 11 Rajabhat universities in the Northeast Region, and 2) 181 undergraduate students enrolling in the information literacy course at Rajabhat universities in the Northeast Region. The research instruments were a set of questionnaires about information literacy course management for lecturers and an information literacy test for students. Data were analyzed by using percentage, and mean.           


            The findings revealed that 1) in terms of conditions of information literacy course management for undergraduate students in Rajabhat universities in the Northeast Region, the information literacy course was organized by Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences from Rajabhat universities (90%). The course was named as ‘Information Literacy’ (27.28%) from three Rajabhat Universities. Most Rajabhat Universities determined three credits (72.73%) for the course. Most Rajabhat Universities (45.45%) categorized the Information literacy course as a general education course in a Humanities Group, and 2) The level of information literacy of undergraduate students in Rajabhat universities in the Northeast Region as a whole was at a moderate level. When considering individual standard from the five standards in information literacy, all standards were in a moderate level.
