Servant Leadership of the School Administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani–Amnatcharoen

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to study the levels of the servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen, 2) to compare the levels of the servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen classified by education levels, working experiences, and school sizes, and 3) to study guidelines for developing the servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen. The samples used in the research were 362 participants: school administrators and teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen. They were randomized by stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a five rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and One-way ANOVA. When differences in each aspect were found, pairwise comparisons were made by using LSD.

The research findings were as follows.

1. The servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen in the overall was at the highest level.
2. The findings of the comparison of the opinions on the levels of the servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen showed that the levels of the servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen classified by positions, education levels, and working experiences in the overall were not different, but when classified by school sizes in the overall, they were different with the statistical significance at the level of .05.
3. The guidelines for developing the servant leadership of the school administrators under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratchathani – Amnatcharoen were that the school administrators should open opportunities to the staff to show their opinions, develop the staff potential since they started working, create the atmosphere that supported the staff’s working, provide the staff freedom in working by letting the administrators give advice in working, let the staff use their knowledge, assign the works based on the staff’s knowledge, let the staff making decision based on morality, be able to know the weak points and the strong points, solve problems, develop the schools, adjust themselves to up-to-date the situations, assign works according to the staff’s potential, create visions together with the staff, communicate to the staff, make understanding to the staff, and listen to the opinions from all sections.
