Operation Conditions to Prevent and Solve Drug Problems in the Schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen

Abstract

The objectives of the research were 1) to study operation conditions to prevent drugs in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen,      2) to compare operation conditions to prevent drugs in schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen classified by positions, working experience, and school sizes, and 3) to study guidelines for solving the operation to prevent drugs in the schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen. The samples used in the research consisted of 15 school administrators and 334 teachers in a total of 349 people under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen. The research instrument was a questionnaire with five-rating scales and open-ended. The statistics used were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test.

The research findings were as follows.

1.  The findings showed that the opinions of the school administrators and teachers towards the operation conditions to prevent drugs in the schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen in the overall and the aspects were at a high level.
2.  The comparison of the operation conditions to prevent drugs in the schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen classified by positions, working experience, and school sizes showed that in the overall, the opinions were different with the statistical significance at the level of .05.
3.  According to the problems and the guidelines of the operation to prevent drugs in the schools based on the opinions of the school administrators and the teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen, 1) the problems of the operation were that (1) in preventing, the schools did not have the security guards in all schools to monitor and prevent drugs, (2) in searching for people involving in drugs in the schools, the schools should create the history records and collect the information of the students involving in drugs systematically and up-to-date, (3) in healing, the students’ families rarely participated in solving drug problems and prevent the students from getting involved in drugs, (4) in monitoring, some schools did not obtain the participation from the students’ parents, communities, police, officers, or organizations involving in monitoring drugs inside and outside schools, so the problems occurred, and (5) in administrating, some schools did not strict in using policies in preventing and solving drug problems to regulate in the education quality development plan, and 2) the guidelines for solving the operation problems to prevent drugs in the schools based on the opinions of the school administrators and the teachers under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Ubon Ratcathani Amnat Charoen were that (1) in preventing, the schools should arrange to make the students’ urine test to monitor and prevent drugs, (2) in searching, the schools should form the committees or people involving in drugs in the schools to have history records and collect the information of the students involving in drugs systematically and up-to-date, (3) in healing, the schools should build the participation with the students’ families to find the solution and the prevention to protect the students from getting involved in drugs, (4) in monitoring, the schools should collaborate with students’ parents, communities, police, officers, or other organizations involving in monitoring addictive substances inside and outside schools, and (5) in administrating, the schools should use policies to prevent and solve drug problems to regulate education quality development plans and implementation plans.
