Leadership of School Administrators affecting the Professional Learning Community of the Schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 22

Abstract

  The objectives of this research were 1) to study the components on being the professional learning community, 2) to study the levels of the leadership of the school administrators,  3)  to study the levels  on being the professional learning community, 4) to study the relationship between the leadership of the school administrators and on being the professional learning community, 5) to study the predictive power of the administrator leadership affecting being the professional learning community, and 6) to find guidelines for developing the leadership of the school administrators affecting being the professional learning community in the schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 22. The samples used in the research randomized by multi-stage sampling were 434 participants: 49 school administrators and 385 teachers. The research instrument was a five-rating scale questionnaire. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient of Pearson, and multiple regression analysis.

The research findings were as follows.

1. Being the professional learning community consisted of 5 components: 1.1) having shared visions, 1.2) teamwork, 1.3) having leadership, 1.4) learning to develop profession, and 1.5) friendship communities.
2. The leadership of the school administrators in the overall and in aspects was at a high level.
3. Being the professional learning community in the overall and in aspects was at a high level.
4. The leadership of the school administrators had the positive relationship at the moderate level with statistical significance at the level of .01.
5. The leadership of the school administrators in the aspects of the participatory encouragement and the individual consideration had the predictive power on being the professional learning community with statistical significance at the level of .01 by having the predictive power at 47%.
6. The development of the leadership of the school administrators affecting being the professional learning community consisted of 2 aspects: the participatory encouragement and the individual consideration.
