The increasing demand of cosmetic market encourages new innovations in skin cleansing products such as liquid soap of it’s quantity, quality, benefits and raw materials. One of the most developed innovations is trying to use natural banana peel extracts as basic soap ingredients with the addition of active substances such as antibacterial substances and others. This research aims to 1) extract and evaluate the anti growth ability of E. coli and S. aureus. 2) determine best formulation of liquid soap containing banana peel extract 3) examine the stability of liquid soap product. The results showed that the ethanolic banana peel extract at a concentration of 2.5 mg/ml has the ability to resist the growth of both types of bacteria (E. coli and S. aureus.). Both strains were inhibited with an inhibitory zone value equal to 0.8 cm, the MIC value of Escherichia coli was 25 mg/ml and Staphylococcus aureus was 50 mg/ml. The MBC inhibitors for Escherichia coli 100 mg/ml and Staphylococcus aureus were 50 mg/ml. Liquid soap that was formulated using banana peel extract as an ingredient at a ratio of 0.25% w/w. The liquid soap was suitable and stable with a pH 6.43, the viscosity of 669.8 cp and no precipitation of the product. The results indicated that the banana peel extracts could be a potential source of antibacterial agents in cosmetic products.
