The Potential Development of Small Hotel for Religious Tourism Destinations in Nadoon District, Mahasarakham Province

The purposes of the research were to 1) study the behavior of the religious tourists in using the services of the small size hotels in Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province and 2) investigate the potentials of the small size hotels in Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province. The samples were 400 religious tourists traveling in Na Dun District. The statistics used in the study were percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research findings were as follows.
- The tourists gave reasons to choose the hotels because the travelling was comfortable. The duration of staying in the hotels was one night. The tourists preferred to stay in the standard rooms from January to March with the prices of 501-1,000 baht. Most of them made reservation by phone. Friends/relatives were parts of decision making in choosing the hotels to stay. The tourists had the objective to stay in the hotels because they intended to visit Phra That Na Dun. However, they were not sure whether they would come back to stay at the hotels or not. Most of them would recommend the hotels to their friends/someone they knew to stay at the hotels.
- The level of the tourists’ opinions towards the potential of the small size hotels for the religious tourists in Na Dun District, Maha Sarakham Province in the overall was at a high level. When each aspect was considered, the findings showed that the tourists had the level of the opinions towards the potential of the small size hotels at a high level in 4 aspects, namely, 1) reliability in services, 2) the response to the needs of the service recipients, 3) building the confidence in services, and 4) the empathy on the service recipients and at a moderate level in one aspect, namely, materialization of services.
