Development and Efficiency Evaluation of the Learning Evaluation System According to the Standard Curriculum of the Bachelor's Degree Programs

Abstract

        The purposes of this study were to design and develop the learning evaluation system according to the standard curriculum of the Bachelor's degree programs, and to evaluate the efficiency of the system. The tools used for the system development in this study were the PHP, HTML, and JavaScript programming languages, and the MySQL database system. The developed system consisted of four modules in which they were the items bank module, exam room management module, examination module, and assessment module. The research instrument was an efficiency evaluation form in which there were four aspects for evaluation. They were the aspects of communication between the system and users, the system processing, the system security, and the satisfactions of system users. Data were analyzed by using arithmetic mean and standard deviation. The efficiency of developed system was evaluated by 5 experts in information technology development, 5 teachers and 76 students at a "good" level. The efficiency indicated that the developed system could be used for student learning evaluation.
