Effects of Cooperative Learning with STAD Technique and Mathematical Practices on Mathematical Achievement in Topic of Linear Equations System for 9th Grade Students

The objectives of this research were 1) to compare the pretest and posttest scores of student achievement in mathematics towards the linear equations system of 9th grade students and 2) to compare student achievement in mathematics towards the linear equations system of 9th grade students after using STAD technique in combination with mathematical practice with the criterion of average score at 70 percent. The samples used in this study were 36 students from section 3/2 at Muangnakhonsithammarat school in the first semester of academic year 2559 which be obtained by cluster sampling. The research instruments were 1) learning management plan the linear equations system, 2) mathematical practice of the linear equations system, 3) mathematical achievement test of the linear equations system. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t – test.
The research results were as follow:
1.Mathematical achievement after used the cooperative learning with STAD technique and mathematical practices were higher than the mathematical achievement before used the proposed techniques with statically significant at the .05 level.
- Mathematical achievement after used the cooperative learning with STAD technique and mathematical practices were higher than criterion of average score at 70 percent with statically significant at the .05 level.
