Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate a model of transformational academic leadership in the digital era for school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Offices in Northeastern Thailand. The study employed a two-phase mixed-methods design. Phase 1 involved model construction through literature synthesis and exploratory factor analysis (EFA), using data from 520 school administrators, together with a needs assessment based on a sample of 385 respondents and 22 experts. The research instrument was a rating-scale questionnaire. Data collection methods included focus group discussions and connoisseurship. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, exploratory factor analysis, and the modified Priority Needs Index (PNI modified). Phase 2 involved evaluating the model by 11 experts using an evaluation form. The statistics used in data analysis included mean and standard deviation.

The findings revealed that the developed model, termed the "DIGITAL Model," comprises seven components ranked by PNI modified value as follows: (1) Development, (2) Idealized Influence, (3) Growth (Individual), (4) Intellectual Stimulation, (5) Teamwork Academic Leadership, (6) Academic Collaboration, and (7) Leadership Vision. The model consists of five structural elements: principles, objectives, structure, implementation, and evaluation. The model evaluation results indicated that accuracy was rated at the highest level, while propriety, feasibility, and utility were all rated at a high level.
