Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop and determine the efficiency of the science instruction model of blended learning using a mobile application to promote creative problem-solving skills of Vocational Certificate Students, and 2) to study the results of implementing this instructional model. The sample of this study consisted of 30 students in the accounting program at Uttaradit Vocational College, selected by cluster random sampling. Research instruments consisted of the science handbook for the model, units, and lesson plans, science learning achievement test, creative problem-solving skills tests, and scientific minds assessment forms. Statistics employed for data analysis were the percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research findings showed: 1. the model called “5PA Model” consisted of five elements: principle, objective, learning process, Evaluation, and important conditions for using the model. The instructional process included six steps: 1) Preparation, 2) Provocation, 3) Planning, 4) Practice, 5) Presentation, and 6) Application. The efficiency of the instructional model was 81.53/80.47. 2. The “5PA Model” results revealed that students had academic achievements higher than the 70 percent criteria with statistical significance at the .05 level after studying. They had a higher level of development in creative problem-solving skills and a higher level of scientific mind.
