7 CREATING A SUPPORTIVE AND ENGAGED ENVIRONMENT FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING: A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE ON LEARNING ENGLISH, THAI, AND CHINESE

Abstract

The study focuses on analyzing cultural dimensions, instructional methods, pedagogical management strategies, and technology integration to identify strategies that enhance learner engagement, foster long-term motivation, and promote language skill development. Additionally, the study examines the social and cultural factors that influence language learning, with a focus on designing activities that cater to the diverse needs of learners. The use of collaborative learning techniques, cultural integration in lesson planning, and the application of digital technologies, such as online platforms and artificial intelligence (AI), contribute to creating a positive and interactive learning atmosphere. This article also offers practical recommendations for teachers to adopt flexible and contextualized approaches to improve the quality of language teaching in the 21st century.  The findings indicate that a learner-centered approach, the incorporation of real-world learning activities, and the effective use of educational technologies are key factors that enhance both academic achievement and learner motivation. The comparative cultural perspective presented in this study provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers in designing curricula and instructional strategies that support comprehensive and inclusive foreign language education responsive to cultural diversity.
