A Study Skills in performing duties in accordance with teacher professional standards Of school personnel Under Phitsanulok Primary Education service Area Office 1

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to 1) study the roles of performing the duties based on the teacher professional standards, and 2) study the levels of the skills in performing the duties based on the standards of school personnel under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The group of the informants on the roles of performing the duties based on the standards was nine experts chosen by purposive sampling. The samples, 97 schools, to study the levels of the skills in performing the duties were obtained by using Krejcie & Morgan Table. The proportion of the samples were compared according to district division and 194 informants, consisted of 97 school administrators and 97 academic teachers, were selected purposively by simple random sampling.


                The results were found as follows.


  1. The roles of performing the duties based on the standards are important and the details of obligatory performance cover four aspects; 1) teacher values and characteristics, 2) knowledge and science of teaching pedagogy, 3) performance as a teacher, and 4) relationship with parents and communities.

  2. The school administrators and the school personnel under Phitsanulok Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 were inquired on the skills in performing the duties based on the standards, and this was found that in general, it is in a high level. When each aspect was considered, it was found that the level of the average of the teacher values and characteristics was high, whereas that of the relationship with parents and communities was low.
