Bloi Ka Ner Va : A Study Of 3 Punnakiriyawatthus In Lent Festival Of Dara-Ang Ethnic Group, Ban Huaicanu, Monpin Sub-District, Fang District, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

The objectives of this thesis were as follows; 1) To study merit-making in Theravada Buddhist philosophy 2) To study the “Bloi Ka Ner Va” festival during the Buddhist Lent festival of Dara-Ang ethnic group. 3) To study the conservation approach of the “Bloi Ka Ner Va” festival of the Dara Ang ethnic group, Ban Huai Chanu, Mon Pin Sub-district, Fang District, Chiang Mai Province. Data were collected through in-depth interview from target group that was related to  Dara-Ang  Ethnic Group, Ban  Huaicanu, Monpin Sub-District, Fang District, Chiang Mai Province. The collected data were connectedly analyzed in descriptive manner to find the relationship in various veritable aspects and they came out as descriptive presentation.

          The results of research were found that:

1. The three Punnakiriyawatthus in Buddhist Philosophy is to do good deeds by giving alms, keeping the precepts, and praying.
2. The “Bloi ka ner Va” festival is the Buddhist Lent festival of the Dara-Ang ethnic group, By combining the Buddhist Lent with beliefs, culture, concepts, and the traditional way of life of the Dara-Ang ethnic group.
3. To preserve the three Punnakiriyawatthus in Buddhist Lent festival, then the Dara-Ang ethnic group will love and concern for this precious festival and the traditional heritage of the Dara Ang ethnic group.
