Development Guidelines for Learning Management in Social Studies Curriculum in the New Normal Age

Abstract

This article aimed to present ideas and practices for teachers in Social Studies curriculum management, where learners used a variety of learning channels and areas according to the nature and needs of individual learners. This was analysis, synthesis, and development of concepts for Social Studies learning management with a focus on the learners according to Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008) to develop learners with knowledge and skills consistent with the twenty-first century learning skills. It was a learning theme that focused on peaceful coexistence in Thai and the world society, a good citizenship, and having faith in the Buddhist principles. Social Studies was one subject in the curriculum, but there were subjects and learning units covering the development of learners that met the goals of the curriculum. If the learning management process for Social Studies was effective, it would solve the countryís low quality education management problem in order to develop the country according to the National Strategy 4.0 within 20 years (B.E.2560-2579 or A.D. 2017ñ2036).
