Network Strengthening of Religious and Cultural Tourism in the South East Region and ASEAN Community

Abstract

This research aimed to study 3 objectives i.e. (1) the condition of the network, (2) the guidelines to strengthen the network, and (3) the analysis of the network strengthening of the religious and cultural tourism of the South East region and ASEAN Community. It was a qualitative research.

The results were found as follows: 1) The condition of the religious and cultural tourism network of the South East region and ASEAN community had 3 levels; namely, (1) ASEAN level linked to the governmental sector, (2) Regional level linked to the regional sector, and (3) Community level linked to the provincial sector. 2) The guidelines to strengthen the network of religious and cultural tourism of the South East and the ASEAN community were found that (1) the governmental sectors should push plans or policies into action; (2) the provincial sector should coordinate the network building; (3) the governmental sectors should support the tourism clubs of the South Northeastern community to develop personnel both in quantity and quality; (4) the provincial sector should contribute tourism knowledge for monks and community leaders; (5) the governmental sectors should give management support. 3) The analytical results of the network were found that the functional structure level was at the level of policy and strategic plans; the regional level was linked to the community sectors more than the governmental and private sectors of which affected to the activity level in terms of integration, experience learning, service quality, personnel development, management, and sharing tourism resources. Therefore, the related agencies should bring out the awareness and provide a successful religious and cultural tourism network model to the communities.
