The Development of Learning Achievement in Geography Using Maps and Geographical Tools Learning Package for Grade 6 Students of Small primary schools in Saraburi Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) compare the learning achievement of the grade 6 students of small primary schools in Saraburi province between before and after learning geography subject using Maps and Geographical Tools learning package and 2) investigate the studentsí opinions on the use of the learning packages in the subject. This is an experimental
research with one group pretest-posttest design. The samples were 103
students from five small primary schools in Saraburi province.

The results showed that: 1) the grade 6 student samples gained the higher learning achievement, with the statistical significance, after learning with the learning packages which included the learning lessons such as maps and map reading, geographical tools and Geographic Information System, and 2) the mean score of the studentsí opinions toward the learning packages included the five aspects which were the learning objectives, the learning contents, the learning activities, the learning materials and the advantages of the learning packages , in overall, was at the high level.
