An Application of Sangahavatthu for The Volunteer Workers in Nakornping Hospital, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were as follows;  to study work performance of volunteer group in Nakornping hospital, to study application of Sangahavatthu in work of volunteer group in Nakornping hospital, and to propose guidelines for application of Sangahavatthu in work of volunteer group in Nakornping hospital, Chiang Mai province. It was a qualitative research with in-depth interview. The amount of 30 samples from Nakornping Hospital volunteer group consisting of 30 people, consisting of 15 singers, musicians, 5 barbers, 5 nurses and 5 general practitioners. The research instrument was in-depth interview.

The results of research were found that 1.Volunteer group worked with sincerity, willingness, virtuousness, loving-kindness, generosity and unity without hoping for something in return and it was done for benefit of society. Volunteer group had applied Sangahavatthu in its work. It emphasized how to conduct themselves for benefit of the public by regularly participating in activities with sacrifice of both physical strength and wealth to patients, relatives, and staff.

2.They spoke proper, polite and humble and they worked with
consistent diligence and respected one another and Volunteer group
possessed guidelines for application Sangahavatthu in accordance with social and cultural contexts, generosity and mutual sharing.

3.They performed all activities with politeness, gentleness and awareness of circumstances.They consistently used their own things for the benefit of themselves and others in the work that would bring happiness and prosperity in the future.
