An Application of Threefold Training for therapy of patients who believe in the domination of occult, Ban Mai Santi , Sung Noen district, Nakhonratchasima province

The purposes of this research were 1) to study the use of the three fold training to cure the patients believing to be affected by black magic at Banmaisanti community, Soongnern district, Nakhon Ratchasima. 2) to analyze the supportive factors for the patients’ practice the threefold training and 3) to provide a handbook for using threefold training in the remedy of the patients believing in the domination of black magic. This research was a combination of the empirical analysis and qualitative research. The population consisted of 20 persons completely recovered in the last 3 months to 1 year, 40 patients undergoing the treatments, 30 therapeutic personnel and the representatives from the public selected by purposive sampling. The instruments included 1) questionnaires, 2) structured interview, 3) focus group recoding, and 4) participating observation. The qualitative data were analyzed and the data from the focus group were summarized. The data from the interview were inductively analyzed.. The qualitative data were analyzed for the average, percentage and the regression analysis was also used.
Results: Most of the patients observed the precepts attentively, chanted prayers, and listened to the sermon. . For the patients who had never practiced concentration and wisdom before, they found it difficult. The factors supporting the patients’ following the Threefold Training depend on each individual depending on each patient’s experience
