An Analytical Study of the Concept in Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa at Wat Jongkham, Ngao District, Lampang Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were as follows 1) to study the concept of constructing in Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa at WatJongkham, Ngao District, Lampang Province, 2) to study the method of Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa at WatJongkham, Ngao District, Lampang Province, and 3) to study Values and Benefits in Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa at WatJongkham, Ngao District, Lampang Province. The Specifically selected sample groups were the Abbot of WatJongkham, four Assistant abbots, a construction supervisor, a construction co-ordinator, a construction engineer, a pattern maker, a construction worker chief and 25 devotees. Data was collected by dept interviews. Data analysis is based on descriptive analysis.

             The results of research were found that:

                 The concept of constructing in Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa is to dedicate to the Buddha, to dedicate to His Majesty King BhumibolAdulyadej and to support of Buddhists.The method of Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa is that the foundation is a broad base and the pattern is taken from the real Bodh Gaya Stupa. Values and Benefits in Reproducing Bodh Gaya Stupa are useful to all Thai Buddhists.
