The Belief and Practices of Buddhists in Phrachaw-Khawtue, Wat Suandok, Chiang Mai.

Abstract

There are two objectives in this research as follow; 1) To study belief of Buddha images appeared in Buddhism and the original belief of Lanna people. 2) To study behavior resulting from the belief of Phachaw-Khawtue, Wat Suandok, Chiang Mai. By collecting of 205 sets of questionnaires were released to analyze the percentage standard deviation. To find the relationship T-test and F-test and determine the Point Biserial Correlation in qualitative research methods of observation of people coming into the hall of Phra chaw-Khawtue,   of 183 persons, and interviews with samples of 11 persons. 

The research found that they are almost women in the middle of age (30-50 years), they have their own commercial business, some women are laborers, and some women are part-time workers. They almost finished studying at bachelor degree, and also married. To consider them as grassroots level is exactly true, because  they are low-cost living. Most of them are seldom visit the Buddha image (less than 1 time/month) and they rarely come to temple as well,(around 1-2/month) became they believe and appreciate to Phrachaw-Khawtue Buddha  image
