A STUDY OF ARRANGING PRINT-RICH LITERACY ENVIRONMENT IN A PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM

This survey research objective was to study an arrangement of print – rich literacy environment in a preschool classroom in two aspects: room and furniture arrangement, designing a complete physical environment. The samples were 125 preschool teachers in schools under Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, North Bangkok group in the first semester of academic year 2023. The research tool was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation. The research results revealed that the overall practice was at a high level (M=3.82, S.D.=0.84). It was found that both sub-ideas were at a high level (3.74 ≤ M ≤ 3.90). Each can be described: (1) room and furniture arrangement (M=3.90, S.D.=0.86) consisted of room arrangement (M=4.03, S.D.=0.67), furniture arrangement (M=3.76, S.D. =0.98), and (2) designing a complete physical environment (M=3.74, S.D.=0.81) consisted of an arrangement of literacy materials (M=3.82, S.D.=0.76), an arrangement of equipment (M =3.65, S.D.=0.86) respectively.
