Teachers’ Opinions in Promoting School Safety for Preschoolers

This survey research objective was to study the teachers’ opinions in promoting school safety for preschoolers in three aspects: safety environment arrangement, safety inculcation, and safety management. The population was 104 preschool teachers working in large schools under the office of the basic education commission in Bangkok in the first semester of academic year 2023. The research tool was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation. The research results revealed that the overall of the teachers’ opinions was at a highest level (M =4.68, S.D. =0.41). It was found that all sub-ideas were at a highest level (M =4.60 ≤ M ≤ 4.80) that were as follows: (1) safety environment arrangement (M =4.80, S.D. =0.49) consisted of school area management (M =4.75, S.D. =0.46) and maintenance and repair of appliances and equipment (M =4.84, S.D. =0.67). (2) safety inculcation (M =4.63, S.D. =0.48) consisted of safety education for children and parents (M =4.69, S.D. =0.44) and teacher self-development (M =4.56, S.D. =0.56). (3) safety management (M =4.60, S.D. =0.47) consisted of school guideline formulation (M =4.54 S.D. =0.62) and service management (M =4.61, S.D. = 0.53) respectively.
