Creative Art Activities Using Tray Gardening According to the Reggio Emilia Concept to Promoting Executive Function (EF) of Early Childhood Children

Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) to develop the pattern of organizing creative arts activities using tray gardening based on the Reggio Emilia concept to promote executive functions (EF) for early childhood children 2) to compare executive functions (EF) of early childhood children before and after using tray gardening based on the Reggio Emilia concept. The target group was 11 kindergartens, aged 4-5 years at Wat Kallayanamit school. Research tools included 1) six lesson plans for creative arts activity and 2) executive functions (EF) of early childhood children assessment. The statistics used are mean, standard deviation and relative gain scores. Research results were 1) executive functions (EF) of early childhood children found that the children had higher scores in executive functions (EF) skills after the experiment than before using creative arts activities using tray gardening based on the Reggio Emilia concept and 2) Comparison of executive functions (EF) of early childhood children before and after using tray gardening based on the Reggio Emilia concept found that the overall score of early childhood children had a developmental score of 67.96 %. in high level.
