Developing Young Children’s Speaking Ability by utilizing AR Flashcards

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to compare the speaking ability of young children before and after utilizing AR flashcards. The target sample employed in this study were 17 young children in kindergarten-level 1 from the classroom La or plus K.1/2 which were selected by purposive sampling. Research tools consisted of learning activity management by utilizing AR flashcards plan and assessment form of speaking ability of young children. The statistics utilized in this research was mean analyses.

The research results revealed that before the activity arrangement, the total score of speaking ability of young children, who received AR flashcards learning activities, was equal to 67 with mean = 3.94. However, after the activity arrangement, the total score of speaking ability of young children was equal to 216 with mean  = 12.7. The study showed that after the arrangement of AR flashcard learning activities, the speaking ability of young children had higher average score than that of before the arrangement of AR flashcard learning activities.
