Abstract

This research aims to 1) study the development of problem-solving abilities of Grade 2 students who organized project-based learning and future problem-solving. 2) compare academic achievement in science subject of Grade 2 students before and after organized by project-based learning and future problem-solving. 3) study the satisfaction towards project-based learning and future problem-solving organization. The research sample was 35 students in Grade 2/6 in Watraikhing (Soonthon U-thit) school by using a Cluster random sampling method using 1 classroom as a random unit. The lesson plans of the Science and Technology learning subject group with project-based learning and future problem-solving, problem-solving ability evaluation form, academic achievement tests, and assessment of students' satisfaction towards project-based learning and future problem-solving organization were used as research tools. The statistics used to analyze the data were arithmetic mean, standard deviation, One-way ANOVA with Repeated Measures, and t-test Independent.

The findings indicated that:

  1. The problem-solving abilities of Grade 2 students for 3rd time were at a very good level. (M = 2.71, SD =0.28) which is higher than 1st time (M = 2.26, SD = 0.28) and 2nd time (M = 2.27, SD = 0.23) respectively with significant at statistical .05.

  2. The academic achievement of Grade 2 students after organized by project-based learning and future problem-solving (M = 15.74, SD = 2.03) is higher than before organization (M = 7.37, SD = 1.78) respectively with significant statistical .05.

  3. The satisfaction towards project-based learning and future problem-solving organization of Grade 2 students was found that has a very good level.
