Instructional Design In Art Education For Promoting Sustainable Coexistence With Nature
Main Article Content
Abstract
The profound relationship between arts and nature has been manifested through the lens of humanity from various knowledge creation embodied living practices over an extended period of time. It serves as the valuable resources of inspiration as a driving force behind many origins of artworks. In the modern world, the skill in sustainable living with nature is one of the essential 21st century life-skills especially for the new generations. Furthermore, the competency in sustainable and harmonious coexistence with nature and science has become the key factor of holistic learning to foster connections between learners and the world around them. Art also plays a crucial role in an educational system offering an opportunity for learners to interpret nature aesthetically and to build up environmental awareness. On top of that, integrative experiential-based learning is considered the primary approach in art education. The ultimate purpose is to enhance artistic appreciation and to facilitate skill development such as critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, thereby enabling learners to create artworks and innovative designs inspired by concepts of natural surroundings. Therefore, art serves as an effective medium to connect learners and the natural coexistence mindset altogether especially with the recognition of the value of natural resources, both aesthetically and practically. It fosters them to cultivate the sense of responsibility alongside the harmonious and sustainable living in the natural environment.
