The Effects of Game Activity Training Program on Football Skills for Secondary School Students Educational Opportunity Expansion School Bang Len District Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

This research objective is to study the effects of a training program using game-based activities on football skills among lower secondary school students. The sample group consisted of lower secondary students from two opportunity expansion schools in Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province, during the academic year 2024. The students were divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 30 students in each group. Purposive sampling was used. The results showed that there were no initial differences in football skills between the groups. The research tools consisted of 1.) A football skill training program using game-based activities, 2.) A football skill test designed for lower secondary school students. The experimental process was conducted over 8 weeks, with training sessions held three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Football skill assessments were conducted twice: once before the training in week 1 and once after the training in week 8. The statistical methods used included percentage, mean, standard deviation, and independent t-test. Research Findings 1.) The football skill training program using game-based activities for lower secondary students at opportunity expansion schools in Bang Len District, Nakhon Pathom Province, had a content validity index ranging from 0.80–1.00, indicating good quality and applicability. 2.) The comparison of the training outcomes between the experimental and control groups showed that the experimental group had significantly higher performance in all skill areas at the .05 level of statistical significance.
