PROSPECTIVE SCENARIO OF THAI EDUCATION IN THE 4.0 ERA

Abstract
The purposes of this qualitative research were to illustrate the prospective scenario of Thai education in the 4.0 era. The research was previourly conducted with a study of literature related to current scenario of Thai education. Results from the study provided contents to develop a form to interview a persons hightly selected specialists and connoisseurs on 10 aspects regarding ideology, vision, mission, objective, learners’ goal, educational goal, kindergarten kindergarten education, basic education, vocational education and higher education. Based on the study, it revealed that the prospective scenario of Thai education in the 4.0 era should encompass the following to the stated aspects : (1) Concentration must be stressed on new techniques along with the changing world, emphasized on educational outcomes, managed by encouraging participation from stakeholders and all related sectors. More attention should be paid on the learners, especially the first six-year children, who are in the period of cultivating life style covering knowledge, skill, moral and ethics, digital skills and English proficiency, ability to be competitive and work with competators. (2) Quality education must be accessible to all Thai people for their well beings as to the philosophy of sufficiency economy in the 21st century. Compulsory education must be extended to 12 years. The curriculum design must reflect the community’s needs, learners’ love to learn, to work and to be responsible. Educational evaluation must be performance based, and instructional time should be reduced. Teacher should play their roles as planner, diagnoser and facilitator. Reciprocally, they should receive better renumeration, especially the shortage areas of specialization, in order to convince smart people into teaching profession and retain them in the system, (3) Education system and process at every level must provide life long education opportunity for all Thai people with quality, efficiency, and morality, and promoting for the productive society. (4) Educational objectives should be improve in light of the quality and efficiency of educational system and process for the development of learners’ wellrounding. (5) Every learner should possess 8 C’s and 3RS (6) Quality standard of education must be accessible to all citizens. Every educational sector and school are to be qualified and effective as to the international standards. (7) Curriculum at the kindergarten level should be developed in line or child development process. The application of work and play methods of teaching for psychomotor development must be emphasized so as those children are well prepaired for primary education. (8) Basic education should : promote positive attitude on prospective employment, set up a foundation for occupational skills at the senior high school level, promote employment values, and embrace a study plan for the world of work through to effective guidance process. (9) Consideration on the improvement of vocational schools in order that specialized human resource development are to be encouraged. A dual program of study along with a bilateral system with standardized firms must employed. This includes the improvement of vocational teachers competency standards and evaluation, the skills promotion, as well as the students’ ability to work as free lance being entrepreneurs There after. (10) Higher education should ensure that programs provided are in line with the labour markets, especially the industrial sectors. Authentic performance base have to be additionally, employed for students’ evaluation as well.
