Abstract

This article concerns the relationships between politics and education, which are considered as significant issues in Political Foundations of Education. This course is under Foundations of Education, one of the fields in Education. Before 1960s, several scholars viewed politics and education separately because it was believed that two fields had dissimilar activities. This belief had continued and then changed in 1980s. It was because education was considered as a kind of political business due to the fact of the relevance of policy and educational administration. In this article, it emphasized on the analysis of Thailand’s Education policy in order to reflect the connection between Thailand’s politics and education from Siamese Revolution until present. The analysis was relied on three sources of governments’ official documents which were 1) Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, 2) Thailand’s Education Plans, and 3) Policies from 62 groups of Cabinet Office. This article revealed the significance of education as a vital instrument of the governments in supporting and developing the country as they wished.
