Business Affairs Performance of International Schools in Chiang Mai Province

Abstract


                The objectives of this study were to study: 1) the business affairs performance of international schools in Chiang Mai Province, and 2) the problems encountered as well as recommendations for improvement. Data were collected through questionnaires - analyzed by frequency and percentage – administered to four groups responsible for: documentation and administration; finance and accounting; human resources; and materials and maintenance. Significant findings regarding the performance of school staff aiding persons requesting assistance showed: good human relations (83.50%); smiling and friendly atmosphere (78.75%); and attention to ideas and opinions expressed (76.25%). On the other hand, business affairs performance was limited by: actual preparation of operational plans (21.25%); implementation of operational plans (25.00%); and survey of needs of persons requesting assistance (32.50%). At the same time, respondents also expressed no knowledge of whether or not plans were made or exercised regarding: survey of needs (63.75%); existence of plans (52.50%); implementation of (51.25%); and annual monitoring & evaluation (56.25%).
