Abstract

This research aimed to 1) developing a tourism model and routes of creative learning tourism in Kanchanaburi province; 2) proposing approaches to creative learning in Kanchanaburi. The procedure of this research consisted of 2 stages. Stage 1: developing a tourism model and routes for creative learning in Kanchanaburi, by synthesis of 3 sub-research projects and stage 2 proposing approaches to creative learning in Kanchanaburi by conducting learning and a exchange forum among 30 stakeholders within the locality. The results of this study revealed that 1. The model of tourism for creative learning is composed of 5 main components: 1.1 learning to experience 1.2 tourism resources development 1.3 community participation. 1.4 Managing capacity development, and 5) building tourism network. 2. There are 5 major travel routes for creative learning in Kanchanaburi, each of which links 3 forms of tourism model together and is characterized by the interest and availability of each tourist group with activities in 1 day, 2 days and 3 days. 3. The guidelines on tourism development for creative learning are as follows: Government agencies at policy level should include tourism activities for learning. Local government agencies and local people should cooperate on promoting tourism activities for creative learning within the community. Tour operators should develop social media, potential routes as well as travel it ineraries according to individual group tours’ requests.
