BEHAVIOR USE SOCIAL MEDIA AND SOCIAL MEDIA LITERACY SKILLS OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS NARESUAN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This research was conducted to study the behavior and social media literacy skills of undergraduate students Naresuan University who enrolled ways of living in the digital age in the academic year 2018. The subjects of this study were 170 students randomly selected using the simple random sampling. Data were collected using the questionnaires divided into three parts were analyzed by frequency, percentage arithmetic mean and standard deviation.


                The results showed that the following findings : the majority of users are female user. Aged range of the users is 19 years old and studying in the first year. The place that the students accessed was at their own residences. Students had more than 4 years experience using online social media. The average time spent was more than 1-3 hours. The social network that was mostly used was Facebook and device frequently used to connect social networks was Smartphone. The activities that students did most for entertainment such as watching a movie, listening to music, playing a game online etc.


                Students' social media literacy skills was at a high mean value (x̄) = 3.79, value standard deviation (S.D.) = 0.04.
