The Effects of Learning Activity Package in the Topic of Reading And Writing with Understanding through Cooperative Learning CIRC Technique toward Reading Comprehension and the Thai Language Written Communication

Abstract
The objectives of this research were aimed to compare the reading comprehension and the Thai language written communication ability of the grade VI students prior to and after the use of the learning activity package in the topic of Reading and Writing with Understanding through Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) and to study the students’ satisfaction on cooperative learning CIRC technique. The sample was a classroom, from the grade VI students of Tessaban 2 Phayasrisoontornvoharn (Noi Ajarayangkul) School, under the supervision of the Mueang Chachoengsao Municipality. The research instruments used for collecting data were 1) the learning activity package in the topic of Reading and Writing with Understanding through cooperative learning CIRC technique 2) reading comprehension test 3) the Thai language written communication test and criteria and 4) questionnaire on the students’ satisfaction. The data analysis was conducted through average ( ) and standard deviation (S.D). Hypothesis was tested by dependent t-test.
The finding revealed that after the learning activity package in the topic of Reading and Writing with Understanding through cooperative learning CIRC technique was used with the grade VI students, they improved the skill in reading comprehension and the ability on the Thai language written communication. It was higher than when the learning activity package was used at the significance level of .05. The students’ satisfaction towards the learning activity package in the topic of Reading and Writing with Understanding through cooperative learning CIRC technique was at the highest level.
