The Relationships Between Optimism, Quality of Work Life and Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Employees of Machinery Manufacturing Company

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to study the organizational citizenship behavior, optimism, and quality of worklifeof employees ina machinery manufacturing company 2) to compare agood citizenship behavior


of organization of employees ina machinery manufacturing company classified by differently individual factors and 3)to investigate the relationships between optimism, quality of work life, and goodcitizenship behavior of organization of employeesin a machinery manufacturing company. The sampleswere 190 employees in a machinery manufacturing company. The instruments of this researchcomprised of questionnaire which can be categorized into 1) general information of the respondents 2) the questionnaire about the good citizenship behavior of organization 3) the responsesabout optimism and 4) the queryabout quality of work life. The statistics used for analysis were percentage, frequency distribution, means, standard deviation,one-way ANOVA, Least Significant Difference (LSD), and Pearson’s correlation at level 0.5of significance. The result of the study revealedthat 1) the employees ina machinery manufacturing company who carry differently individual gender factors practiced the similar organizational citizenship behavior2) optimism positively related to good citizenship behavior of organizationand 3) quality of work life positively related to the good citizenship behavior of organization.
