Abstract
This cross - sectional study was conducted to examine the level of nursing student’s identity and to compare mean scores of the identities among each year. Subjects were undergraduate nursing students of the 2017 academic. Two hundred sixty-eight subjects were purposively selected based on the inclusion criteria and proportion sampling. The 25 items of research instrument was a 5-point rating scale questionnaire consist of 2 parts: 1) two personal data: sex and average grade, and 2) five - identity questionnaire. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and one way ANOVA.
The results found that two – aspect of identity had good level of identity score as aspect of socially responsible= 3.68, S.D. = .57), and competent in problem solving= 3.58, S.D. = .67). The other three aspects were rated as moderate level: professionally trained aspect (= -0.38, S.D. = .67), well-rounded aspect (= 3.34, S.D. = .96) and thoughtful aspect (= 3.23, SD = .83). The identity mean score of nursing students were statistically difference (p <.05).
