OPERATING CONDITION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR ENTERING ASEAN COMMUNITY OF SCHOOLS UNDER THE OFFICE OF NAKHON PATHOM SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA 9

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were to: 1) explore the operating condition of information technology for entering ASEAN Community of the schools under the Office of Nakhon Pathom Secondary Educational Service Area 9; and 2) compare the operating condition of information technology for entering ASEAN Community of the schools under the Office of Nakhon Pathom Secondary Educational Service Area 9 as classified by school size. The population was 1,517 school administrators and teachers from small, medium, large, and extra-large sized schools under the Office of Nakhon Pathom Secondary Educational Service Area 9. The sample of 310 was selected by stratified random sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire about operating conditions of information technology for entering ASEAN community with the reliability of 0.98. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, one way analysis of variance, and least-significant difference test for multiple comparisons.


          The research results showed that: 1) overall the operating condition of information technology for entering ASEAN Community of the schools under the Office of Nakhon Pathom Secondary Educational Service Area 9 was at a high level. When considering each aspect, all aspects were at a high level. The aspects, ranked in the descending order, were learning process, infrastructure, internal management and administration, teaching and learning management, learning resource, and collaboration of government, private sector and community. 2) Overall and in specific aspect, the operating condition of information technology for entering ASEAN Community of the schools under the Office of Nakhon Pathom Secondary Educational Service Area 9 was significantly different according to school size at the level of .05. When comparing through least-significant difference test, it was found that the large schools operated on information technology for entering the ASEAN community higher than small and medium schools; while the extra-large schools had operated information technology lower than the large schools.
