Abstract

This article aims to study the events and effects of the Peloponnesian Wars and the Peloponnesian League by Sparta after the wars ended. The results of the study showed that the Peloponnesian Wars were Greek wars between the Spartan-led Dorian Greeks and the Athenian-led Ionian Greeks. Over the course of nearly three decades, several Peloponnesian Wars took place both mainland Greece and beyond Aegean Sea. These wars also brought many Greek city-state allies to the battlefield. At the same time, the Peloponnesian Wars were also a struggle between Sparta and Athens for leadership. After the end of the wars, the city-state of Sparta led the Peloponnesian League to victory while the Delian League of Athens collapsed, although later the Peloponnesian League was also subsequently dissolved by Macedonian Greek.
