A Study of Factors affecting Airside Accidents at DON MUEANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

This study aimed to study the factors affecting airside accidents and to investigate the risk factors related to the airside accidents at Don Mueang International Airport. The sample of this study comprised 400 airside operators at Don Mueang International Airport by using the questionnaire. The quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive statistic include frequency percentage means and standard deviation.
The results of this study revealed that the factors affecting airside accidents at Don Mueang International Airport at a high level is the operators factor with a mean of 4.15 followed by the environmental factors with a mean of 4.04 the organizational factors of safety management with a mean of 3.98 and the equipment factor at a lower level with a mean of 3.93. As for the opinions of the operators on the factors affecting airside accidents at Don Mueang International Airport, it was found that the negligence operations were related to the highest number of accidents in airside. Therefore, the airport operators and service providers should focus on cognition of operational safety for operators and emphasizes the awareness at work, including compliance with company and airports rules, this will help operators have a positive attitude towards regulations and a positive safety culture.
