The study of decorative objects of the Esan-Tai ethnic group aimed to study the pattern of beliefs and the  usage of the Esan-Tai’s decorative objects and to study the
variation of the Esan-Tai decorative objects. This research is accomplished by collecting the paper results and the field research results. This research used the questionnaires, the
pre-organized interview records, the spontaneous interview records and the observation records as information collecting tools. The information from the random sampling of the experienced people in the field of ornaments and the craftsmen are analyzed and used to describe the objectives of the research.
The Esan-Tai decorative objects can be found in Khmer or Thai Guay (Suai) ethnic groups as ordinary ornaments and ritual ornaments. These objects are the combination of the folk wisdom and their beliefs. The exceptional trait of beauty can be seen as the propitious pictures and symbols on the ornaments. When the decorative objects have something involve with people beliefs, it becomes the sacred objects which, later, used as a ritual ornament or an amulet.
The attitude towards beauty depends on people’s belief or their taste. These factors are greatly influenced the decorative objects usage pattern of Esan-Tai people. When
the belief is reconstructed, the pattern of the ornaments and the way to use it also changed. In contrast of the previousperiod, these days, the decorative objects are only used for
showing beauty and luxury.
