โครงการวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาและสำรวจอาคารเก่าในเขตเทศบาลเมืองขลุง จังหวัดจันทบุรี เพื่อจัดทำฐานข้อมูลอาคารที่ควรค่าแก่การอนุรักษ์ ดำเนินการศึกษาโดยสำรวจเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม สืบค้นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิ สัมภาษณ์ และตรวจสอบข้อมูลโดยประชาชนที่อาศัยในชุมชนเมืองขลุง การรวบรวมข้อมูลได้ระบุ บันทึก และประเมินสภาพอาคารเบื้องต้น พร้อมกับจัดทำทะเบียนและระบุคุณค่าของอาคารดังกล่าวไว้ ผลการศึกษาสามารถระบุอาคารเก่าในพื้นที่ศึกษาได้จำนวน 133 หลัง ซึ่งมีลักษณะของวัฒนธรรม 3 เชื้อชาติ ได้แก่ ไทย จีน และญวน รวมถึงอาคารทางศาสนาพุทธและศาสนาคริสต์ ผลจากการวิจัยสามารถระบุอาคารที่เป็นแหล่งมรดกของชุมชน ซึ่งเป็นขั้นเริ่มต้นในกระบวนการการอนุรักษ์เมืองและย่านประวัติศาสตร์ องค์ความรู้ที่ได้จะเป็นฐานข้อมูลในการศึกษาและอ้างอิงประกอบการอนุรักษ์มรดกทางสถาปัตยกรรมของเมืองขลุงต่อไป

Abstract

This study aimed to explore old buildings in Khlung Municipality, Chanthaburi Province so that the database covered buildings worth preserving. It was conducted by collecting field information, investigating secondary data, interviewing informants and verifying the data by interviewing the locals in the municipality. The collected data were used to identify, record and assess the buildings’ conditions. The buildings were also registered and it was determined whether it was worthwhile of them being preserved. It was found that there were 133 old buildings in that area and their architectural characteristics were indicative of three ethnic groups - Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese. Some of the buildings were related to Buddhism and Christianity. These old buildings were considered community heritage. This identification is the first step in the preservation of cities and historical areas. The findings can be used as a database for further study and as a reference for the preservation of architectural heritage in Khlung Municipality.
