CONCEPTS FOR DEVELOPING A TEACHING MODEL USING CREATIVE DRAMA TO DEVELOP ADVANCED THINKING FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

          This study aimed to synthesize the concept of developing teaching methods using creative drama to enhance advanced thinking skills for early secondary education students. It was part of research on developing teaching models using drama processes for teachers to enhance students' advanced thinking skills. The researchers conducted a comprehensive review of relevant literature and research studies, synthesizing the key content into the following main themes: learning standards and essential competencies for early secondary education students; components of advanced thinking skills; development approaches and the role of teachers in promoting students' advanced thinking skills; roles and skills of teachers as leaders in creative drama activities; organizing creative drama activities; drama creation processes in the classroom and creative drama and student learning. The study concluded that teachers played a significant role in determining teaching methods that could develop advanced thinking skills for early secondary education students to ensure appropriate development during adolescence. It was found that creative drama was suitable for developing advanced thinking skills because it focused on developing students. It is essential for teachers leading creative drama activities to have a foundation in drama to effectively develop students' advanced thinking skills. Teachers facilitate students in exploring the roots of problems, finding truths through hypothetical situations, and designing innovative problem-solving methods. Thinking skills are crucial for human life, enabling individuals to lead quality lives and solve problems correctly based on both reason and morality.
